What I am looking for is an unlocked cellphone that has a qwerty keyboard that will NOT tie me down to some 1 year or 2 year contract.

I am willing to spend several hundred dollars for a nice cell with a nice size screen and a qwerty keyboard....

Any suggestions?

Thank You

Lulz a HTC Tytn if you have GSM. You can pick up a Cingular 8525 which is the same thing just subsidized. Which would be cheaper. The only difference is the design but the hardware is the same. The firmware/rom would be Cingular but you can flash that with to a different rom(debrand) @ www.xda-developers.com

Unless you want to go to the HTC Kaiser/ AT&T tilt (just announced today) Which is $700+ unbranded. AT&T 8925/Tilt requires a contract @ $299AR or even a 6 month data plan if you get someone to buy it outright.

I would go Tytn(hermes) for now.

I'd say check out the BlackBerry 8300, 8310 & 8320. Decent size screen, QWERTY, media player, 3.5mm headphones, GPS, WiFi, et al.
