Why? Because you would have one side claiming he is a religous zelot and try to stop every policy he'd try to put in place(even if it were a great idea)

Also you have the religous zelots saying he's not a true christian or what not and would refuse to support his policies.

Also I'm sure the ACLU would sue for using the name Jesus in public schools because of separation of chruch and state.

He'd have a better chance as a dictator or supreme emperor with no congress to deal with. But he's not the one to purge corrupt systems.

Just to generalize and stereotype a bit...

Liberals would complain that he represents the religious right, but they would love his ultra-left economic policies and the strong central government thta he would represent (how can you argue states rights when Jesus is president?).
Conservatives would love his strong position on morals, ethics, and spirituality, but hate that the federal government has full control over such issues, along with all the government controlled, social welfare programs.

Yeah, you're probably right. I clicked on the link, it is mildly amusing but wasn't the funniest thing I've seen. Got a slight chuckle out of it though.

It gets funnier when you actually see the Bible quotes they are referring to when making their statement. For instance, "turn the other cheek" was interpreted as, "Jesus says we shouldn't fight terror, and we should let the terrorists attack again." LOL, man that is great!
