Would it be weird to use 2 monitors of different sizes?

I run 2 monitors of different size and format (4:3 and 16:10), 19" 1280x1024 M-VA panel and 24" 1920x1200 S-IPS panel. I position the 24" directly in front of me with the 19" off to the left (panels touching) since I'm right-handed and my mouse/pad take up the right flank. I attempted to go 2x 24" panels with one being a TN panel but after turning it on I nearly drop-kicked it in disgust. Even with hours of settings adjustments I couldn't "fix" the washed-out look of everything on the panel. I learned my lesson. I was spoiled from using my IPS and VA panels and am stuck with them until they start mass-producing them again (hard to find these days for a decent price).

I think its not too bad (I use a 24" Dell U2414M along side the 22" 2209WA). But the only thing I dont like is how your video card wont go to its idle clocks due to the timings on the monitor being different. I use a separate physx card to solve this issue but wish the IHVs come up with a way that you dont need another card or an identical monitor to solve the issue..

If you were going to use 3 odd sized monitors in eyefinity then it would look odd.

With dual monitors you usually are doing different tasks on each monitor so it is just like looking at a seperate computer screen.

When I had dual monitors I would play a game on one screen and have my web browser on the other screen, it wasn't weird at all.

I'm using a 27 in Planar (1920x1080 TN) monitor at the moment. I found myself buying a 24 in (1920x1200 IPS) monitor earlier today. I'm not used to having dual monitors. Does anyone know what it will be like to use the two together? Thanks in advance!

All the kids will laugh and you and point fingers. Look at that guy. LOL

no just kidding. Its not weird at all. I did it for 7 years, and my dads been doing it for 5 years.

As long as your main desktop monitor is what you want. It should be the smaller one, if your using a TV as second.. since its actualy PC monitor. gl
