Would it be possible to use a wireless AP as a wired-to-wireless bridge?

I'm thinking of connecting my Xbox wirelessly to my router; unfortunately the wired-to-wireless ethernet bridges I've seen are pretty expensive. However, 802.11B access points that have RJ-45 jacks are pretty common and much cheaper.

I was wondering if it would be possible to use an 802.11B access point as a bridge for my xbox. It's not really practical to route a wire from my router to the xbox so I have to go wireless to play XBL. I'm hoping I can use the 802.11B AP to connect to my existing 802.11G network without causing a security hole.

Anyone have any experience doing this? If so, any recommended brands/models that would work well? The router I currently use is a D-Link 802.11G (I forget the exact model number).

Thanks in advance.

What about this? Links

You could hook that into your xbox and it would connect to your 802.11g router.

I've seen those, but they're expensive IMHO. I can get a full router/access point for much cheaper.

As far as I no none of the inexpensive Wireless Cable/DSL Routers the go for $10 to $30 can work in any other Mode than a regular Gateway.

Some of the Entry Level Access Points (D-Link 900AP+, Linksys WAP11, and few more) can work as Clients. I.e. you can configure them on a computer and then take it off and attach it to the Xbox.

You might save a little and it will reduce you 801.11g Speed!!!
