Ok well first off all i dont have one but i would like one. It is very expensive to get one istalled bc i live in an old house with plaster walls so it is a mess to run wires. I do have a cable router that send broadband to my room. My router has a phone jack on it. Would it be possible to get the signal though the router and sent to my room through the cat5 cable? Could i send the signal though my computer to an old modem and use the modems line out as an actuall line? I know you can do it when you supply the line in for the modem directly to it but could i send it though my computer through my network? I havent really though this over much but it was just an idea that popped into my head. Can anyone tell me if this is possible at all? Thanks

If you don't have any luck with what you're trying you can get those remote wireless jacks where you plug one end in to the phone line and then plug it into an electrical outlet. Then you plug the phone in at the other end on the receiving unit.
Though I do have to ask, why not just get a decent cordless phone. You can plug the base in where there is a jack and just put the phone on the charger every once in a while or get a model that has a remote charging base option.

Well the proplem is that i have a 13 year old sister. She takes every phone in the house and keeps them in her room so that the batteries run out. I cannot stand having to charge my phone bc she is to lazy to put it back on the charger in my room. Also i did have one of those remote charging phones and it just died on me and the set was like $230 so my mom doesnt want to go that route again and i dont blame her bc bb and panasonic wont take them back. I want a corded phone that cannot be removed from my room so that my sister cannot take it from me. Those wireless remote phone jacks are like $70 and that is alot less that getting a jack but i already have the cat5 cable with access to a phone jack so i just kinda wanted to throw out the idea.
