I've been wondering if I could bring my own meat for the chef to cook on the grill. Would it be too weird to just whip it out and ask?

No, it wouldn't, and not here either.

Probably not. I would think most local health codes have regulations on what can be prepared in a commerical kitchen and what the source of any food prepared therein is.

If you live in hot area, you could try taking out your meat on a local public sidewalk in full sun, that should give you the results you seek.

Probably not hot enough to actually cook his meat but then "cooking" it may not have been his plan anyway. :sneaky:
