Would I see a noticable difference with this upgrade?

I currently have a 6800 GTO(not GT). Today I am considering getting a BFG 7800 GT OC. The games I am currently playing are COD2, FEAR, and AOE 3. How much will this new card help those? Will there be a significant increase in performance? Or, is it not worth the money?
Any help in my decision would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, the 7800 GT OC is at the top of my budget. So, I probably won't be able to afford a 7900 series card when they come out. And no X1900 XTX, either. I don't really want ATI, anyway. All the talk I've heard about bad ATI drivers makes me nervous.

My other specs:
P4 3.6ghz with HT
1gb DDR2 4200

IIRC is the GTO an 8 or 12 pipe card? can u/have you unlocked it?

if it is only 8 pipes then id say getting a 7800GT would be a fairly decent upgrade, definately noticable.

It has 12 pipes. It is basically a 6800 vanilla. I believe the only real difference is a slightly faster clock speed. And no, I cannot unlock more pipes on this card. It is from Dell, and they made it so you can't do that. So I've heard, anyway.

It'll be 2x faster at least. Still COD2 and FEAR are very taxing to begin with and even 7800GT will have trouble playing them smoothly with all the bells and whistles.

Thanks for the help, guys. I have changed my mind, though. I'm going to wait and see what Nvidia releases next. 7900 or whatever they are going to call it. Yeah, it will be expensive, but I have a while to save.

If anything, the GTX will be cheaper then. I hope...
