Would I see a increase going from 85mbps to 200mbps powerline

Quick question, I have a powerline network right now. Speedtest rates the speed at about 5.5mbps. I have the 85 mbps and am thinking about going to 200mbps. I'm just wondering if you think I would see a speed increase. Question kinda sounds dumb but the reason I ask is because the 85mbps isn't even maxed out so I'm wondering if it's the wiring in my apt. Also does the 200mbps use a stronger signal or something that would increase performance, or again is this a wiring issue since the 85mbps isn't even maxed out either

If you are transferring files between computers on your local network, then you may see an improvement with the faster equipment. If you are only worried about your Internet download speed, then you probably won't see any difference at all unless you have a REALLY fast Internet connection.

The newer power line equipment uses some techniques that DSL uses. IE transmit bands and the like. You might see improvement inter-computer, Internet only if 5.5mbps is slower than your internet connection.

Then again you may see no improvement also.

yeah you might get 10mbps. and zero if there is a bad brick/fan/dyson going.

it depends. but it is faster. i tested 14/85/200 and they were faster.

rule of thumb is you get about 90% packet loss. udp they are way faster since you can afford to lose packets - tcp and nagle are not happy about the loss and show it.
