Would I notice the difference between 128mb and 256mb on a FX-5200?

Its about $20-25 more for the 256 over the 128mb. I don't game and have a xp-2800/A7N8X. Worth the extra money?

No, not at all, and that card is a dog performer regardless. If you plan to game, pick a different card (Hint: use the search feature and you can find good comparisons/thread on what you need).

Also check the main Anandtech site and the 'video' section to see just how bad a performer the 5200 is in games.

I recomend a Radeon 9600 Pro or XT. Never pay extra to get 256MB of mem over 128.

Getting a FX5200 is bad enough. Getting the 256M version is even worse.

If you don't game at all just get a cheap Radeon 7000/7200 and be happy.

If you don't game, get an MX4000 (basically a workstation card, for those who don't game).
