Would I need a new HSF?

I plan on getting a new motherboard and a case for a computer. It's originally a compaq but that motherboard sucks.

It's a crappy 2.6 Celeron, so I am wondering would it be OK to use the HSF that the Compaq comes with or should he buy a new one. If so what would you guys recommend? Thanks.

You might want to reconsider. If you don't have your own stand-alone copy of Windows, as the pre-installed one may balk at a new mobo. I know that I've tried to slide a new mobo in under existing Win installations and occasionally ended up having to do a clean install. Even using the well-known registry tricks. If I didn't have a generic version of Win on hand, I might have been SOL. Something to think about.
