If you just need the disc, digital river is legal to download the .iso from, to my knowledge. Of course, you would need the COA or whatever it's called now.

I have an emergency backup saved. Would this be a clean install for my ssd?

clean install is when its installed from OS media (DVD, USB, etc) not from a backup.
Backup is an old install, not clean

You dont need to buy windows 7 again to do a clean install, just pop the disk back in, format the drive, and install it again like you did the first time.

The serial key you used for that PC is still perfectly legit for that PC no matter how many times you format/reinstall.
