Since as quoted that Intel no longer producing their PIII and these PIII are not available from this year end onwards, thus if I got my present PIII's RMA and will I increase my chance of getting back an P-4? Thanks.

Nope. I also hear that Compaq has 1000s of P3 slot 1 1ghz chips. They bought a sh!t load for future server warranty service.

You would never get a Pentium 4 in an RMA of a Pentium 3 from Intel. Intel stocks chips for returns - so even if there were none to be found on the spot market, Intel would still RMA back the same type of CPU that you returned to them.

In fact, if you RMA'd a Pentium 66 (with the FPU errata) to Intel right now, you would get back a brand new Pentium 66 (w/o the FPU errata) in exchange.

Getting better hardware usualy only happens with HDD RMA's

What would a normal user do if they got a P4 back from a P3 RMA? Think about it

okay, if not getting a P-4, then lets' assumed if I RMA a PIII-600E, will it be more likeable to received an higher clocked rated PIII processor such as example; PIII-650E? or even luckier PIII850E?
