Would I benefit from a sattelite in line amplifier?

Hello, I was looking at the parts express catalog and I saw a sattelite in line amplifier. It claims it should be used when there is a sattelite cable of 100' or more so that it compensates for line loss (it doesn't boost the signal). I have a 200' cable running around my house and thought this might help but I'm not sure if it's just one of those commercial gimmicks or not. Do these make a noticeable difference?

The only way it might help is with "rain fade", If your system goes down a lot due to rain it might help BUT out of the 200 - 300 systems i've put in I have never needed or used one, even for the 300' pole mounts.
