Hi guys. I am from Australia and have found a laptop on ebay that i want to buy. Its new and says it comes with the 1 year manufacturers warranty, and i have no doubts about the authenticity of the seller (good rating, has paypal).

Anyways, ive never bought internationally, so is it not a good idea to buy a laptop off ebay USA and have it sent to Australia? It will end up being about 600 dollars cheaper so thats why im keen.

What about the warranty, will it work in Australia?

Any input appreciated thanks!

You have to check on the warranty with the local Dealer of the Laptop?s Brand.

Some devices have international Warranty, but many have only local warranty in the country that they were sold in.

As for the Risk, being in the USA it is a very really very hard to call.

Many new laptops from regular vendor cost around $500 to begin with so if there were a small saving on a used or new Laptop on eBay, I would not take the risk.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that given the amount of options you have within Aus, online and within brick-and-mortar stores, I'd say yes :p.
