I got an Ultraplex40 drive and an 8x4x32 SCSI burner if i got a SCSI case for them would it hurt perfomance? I use the Plextor drive as my primary drive for playing games will it slow it down? Im still going to have my internal IDE DVD drive to boot from when needed. What u guys think?

nope it should not affect performance of those drives. However if you connect it to an external connector that is faster, the speed will slow to that of the drives.

As long as you use high quality cables you shouldn't have any problems. Also make sure that your external connectors support the speed of your SCSI devices. I believe Centronics 50-pin connectors are only rated for 5MB/s. The HD50 external connectors support up to 20MB/s I believe. Also the a maximum recommended cable length for a FastSCSI2 chain is 3 meters.

The SCSI FAQ has more information.
