Would dropping say, 5, MOABs on a hurricane have enough impact to disperse it?

THe forces involved in a hurricane are many orders of magnitude greater than a MOAB's blast. Maybe the Tsar Bomba would be a different story.
 
No. My understanding is that even a smallish hurricane contains more energy than a 100MT bomb. A couple little 20kt bombs would probably have no effect.
 
You'd probably just inadvertantly create a nuclear atomic radioactive hurricane.

Hurricane Atom... get it? Adam? Atom? Nuclear? Eh? Bomb?

Is that at any one time or is that the total amount of energy released?

There was actually a project to modify the strength of hurricanes that was abondoned in 1980. Search for Project Stormfury for more information on how this was attempted.

Agreed. Hurricanes generate a lot of energy. I think it'd take, similarly, a large amount of energy to cause enough disruption to dissipate a hurricane.
