This has a pretty good proccesor from what I can gather (Not very much)
I would think of adding a good graphics card to this but I don't know where to start at.

I would like to run older games (Oblivion, WOW, Counterstrike) on medium high and something like Skyrim or BF3 on low-medium.

Here are the specs from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/X53Z-RS61-Note...ref=pd_cp_pc_0

If this is not a good starting computer, please explain what I need to look for. Thanks :D

Oh and If I could add a graphics card, what are my options. I'm almost certain this is where the computer has its downfall.

I would prefer a Nividia at around $200 Max for a card.

Err... that is a laptop which means you most likely won't be able to add a graphics card. What is your total budget and does it need to be a laptop?

If you were going with $470 + ~$200 as a total budget, you can actually build a fairly decent budget system with that and it will blow that laptop out of the water in performance.

The laptop you linked is ~ $470 and you're talking about adding a $200 GPU, so your budget is about $700, right? Maybe this would be a good fit for you.

The Intel i5 will destroy the AMD A6 and it has dedicated graphics, sounds like a much better option. I second this suggestion!

edit: I own an Acer Timeline series laptop with an i3 + dedicated graphics and it plays most games well on medium settings. This being a newer generation from mine would likely do even better.

Also remember that a laptop will not be on par with a desktop system if that is what you are used to.

Oh. I'm so ignorant, lol. I didn't know about laptops not being able to upgrade. I will be looking into building my own pc with alienware or another company when I get the cash. I just need a decent laptop for school this year until I can settle down. Thank you for the reply.

This is actually a killer laptop. Thank you for this.

The 630M is barely faster than the IGP inside the Trinity APU.
And it ll weigh more and run out of battery faster, not to mention its like 100$ more.

Its not really a killer laptop nore really great value.

**edit what I mean is,
if your going to buy a laptop that comes with a discrete Mobil graphics card instead of just the IGP,
you should get something bigger than a 630M.

Sometimes ther more or less equal, or even slower. (the 7660G is the IGP inside the trinity APU)
