Bruce Lee is dead so he couldn't own nuttin.
P.S. Mike Tyson woulda owned him hard back in his prime. Boxers always own in their prime... there is no tougher fighter besides a gun fighter.
You're kidding, right? I was a HUGE Mike Tyson fan, but realistically speaking, boxers don't stand a chance against REAL fighters (K-1, UFC, Pride fighters). I will wager my home that Royce Gracie (170-180lbs) will submit Tyson (~214lbs in his prime) REALLY quickly. Tyson would be REALLY lucky if he doesn't come out of that fight without a broken limb.
I think it was Chuck Norris who was asked who would win, a martial arts fighter or a boxer, and his reply way "whichever one was better at their sport".
All these folks saying that Lee would have broken someone's jaw or knee forget that any pro fighter he faced wouldn't just stand there and wait to be hit.
And Lee couldn't just simply attack a pro boxer or MMA fighter...he'd have to worry about their attacks, too.
There is a reason that he never fought publicly. He wanted to maintain the mystique....he could always brag about being the baddest man in the world (and he did that) if he never had to prove it.
Now that he's gone, because he died young he's a legend, and people believe the myth he perpetuated.
Look at all the famous people who died young that have legends far exceeding what they really were, in any business.
Jimi Hendrix comes to mind. If he had lived less than 10 more years, it would have been obvious that guitarists like Eddie Van Halen could blow him away.....but he died when he was popular, and the legend grew from there.
Same with Lee. He was popular and well thought of when alive, but his prowess only grew to mythic proportions after his death.
Had he lived, and continued to refuse to actually fight anybody, it's doubtful we'd be having this discussion.
