I have ATI Rage IIC 2meg card. Wonder if Voodoo3 1000 or 2000 AGP/PCI video card would increase my web surfing speed (Am not a gamer). Of course your suggestions for other cards welcome.

My basic system is FIC VA 503+ 1.2A E0037 bios MB/ K6-3-333@350/ 128MB PC-100/7200RPM HD.

Many thanks for any input!

If you use high res to surf, then yes, a faster card won't have that scrolling effect. Redraws faster, better for eyes.. Any newer card will give a little speed... but if the web transfers slow, then nop..

Like forcesho said, it night help with the scrolling of the web pages once they have loaded but apart from that it will not help.

One thing you could try is to increase the size of the disk cache you use under internet explorer. If you click on tools/internet options in internet explorer under the general tab click settings you'll see a slider for the amount of disk cache you use. Move it along, or type in a new value - i have mine set to 60Mb, to the new value you want. Increasing the size of the cache will help by storing files locally on your hard disk from sites that you visit regularly, like anandtech forums:), so you don't have to download them every time. you'll notice the difference on a 56k modem.

Hope it helps;)
