Not looking for a "gaming laptop," as i don't have the $$, but I want to be able to play some semi-current games (notably ut2k4 and wow).

Price range of about $1000-$1300
80-100gb hd

I've heard the mobile athlons are nice (turion?) but haven't been able to find much specific info or comparisons.
Also... from what little info i've seen, it seems as though the ati x700s are much better than the gf 6600gos, in that they run faster and suck less power.

so far the only possibility i've found is this.

anyway, any suggestions or random information would be greatly appreciated. TEE WHY VEE EM

Your main concern is in the video card. Try to stay away from shared memory on video card. UT2k4 can be a pretty intense game if u max settings. WoW can also. Id suggest u find one with at least a 64megs Radeon class. Or if u can push your budget a 6800go will do nicely. U might want to cheeze the ram and upgrade it yourself because the vendors will charge u 2-3x more then if u did it yourself and same with Hard drive. Lastly look for coupons. Dell has pretty insane deals and u could probably get a mean one with a 6800go around the price your looking at.

Agreed, if you don't care about size, the 9100 is the best bang for the buck. Watch for some coupons and you should be able to stay close to your budget.
