My friend (who owns a powder coating factory)and I are thinking about coating cases. They also have a process called "Color Fusion", which makes it possible to permenetly inlay a color pattern into the metal such as different colored marbles, woodgrains, snake skin, and even a cool carbon fiber look. The coating is super durable and hard to chip or scratch. I am going to have him do a case here in a few weeks, and i was wandering what the response would be if i started selling these? Let me know if this sounds cool to anyone...

Sounds neat, post some pics once it is done, and judge by the response to the pictures. Also, make sure it is not a really high price. Some of the case painting services out there start at over $100 USD...that is too much for most people.
 
ill get some pics up asap. i am not sure how much i will charge. but it is a lot better finish than paint... but dont think that it will be anywhere near $100. ill let you guys know as soon as i find out more...
 
Sounds great. Powder coating works great on motorcycle frames and anything else ya don't want scratched. Please post the link.
