Would an upgrade from a 5200 to 6600 GT be worth it on this system?

My friend wants to upgrade her system and from the hardware she has I told her to get a new video card. Don't know exact specs of system but it has 1 gig of ram, 3100 AMD sempron (1.8ghz) cpu, and a nvidia 5200 vid card. Would a 6600 GT AGP or something of the like boost her FPS big in World of Warcraft? Im only worried about the CPU not giving it enough juice. What do you guys think? Currently she gets 20-30 FPS at low low detail.

A sempron 3100+ is plenty of juice for modern games. The 6600GT will be a night and day upgrade. The frames/sec will go up, and she can turn up the eye candy to make the game look better.

The other card in the $100 range you should consider is the X1600Pro AGP. Both of these perform about the same, so get the cheapest one you can get your hands on. The amount of ram on them doesn't matter, 128 will perform the same as 256 (the 256M 6600GTs oftentimes use slower ram, so are imperceptiby slower than the 128M versions)

A 6600GT will be plenty for WoW. You could get a 6800 for around $140 or less. But I think for about $100 a 6600GT would be the best.

Thnaks for the replies guys. I was thinking pretty much the same thing "day and night upgrade". Just was not too sure about the sempron CPU, but now ill def get the card.
