Would a Zalman VF1000 work on a 7850?

So, before I bought my HIS 7850, I had a 4870, and I bought a VF1000 ( http://www.zalman.com/eng/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=276 ) for it because the stock fan sounded like a leaf blower. Now the VF1000 looks to be a much better heat sink than the stock one on the 7850 (and it would have to dissipate less heat than it did with the 4870) but Zalman hasn't seemed to update the info on the VF1000 in about four years. Does anyone know if it would fit on the 7850? Would the card be able to control fanspeed with the 3 pin fan, or would it just run at 100% all the time?

You'll probably have to come up with a custom mount for it if you want it to fit on a 7850

I think there are some fan settings you can adjust on the 7850 to keep it quiet, if you are worried about it sounding like an airplane (my 4870 sounded like the space shuttle too)

Just an FYI, copper is better at absorbing heat through direct contact but aluminum is better at transferring heat to the air.
