sorry but wasn't sure where I should post this question.

I'm designing a new case and plans to mount the mobo at a 60 degress to normal. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work, just want to get an second or third opinion from you guys. Obviously mobos and drives work at vertical or horizonal, but what about 60 or 30 degress.

that brings me to my 2nd question: what about harddrives and cd-roms? will they work properly if mounted at an angle? would that effect the way it spins?

it should work upside down.placement has nothing to do with its operation something for the hd.

though a cdrom upside would be a pain in ass

tks. so mobo's taken care of. so HDD and cdrom can work at say 45 degress from normal? of course the cd rom wouldn't be upside down, but if it can operate at 45 degress. that would make my project so much easier.

It would work on the moon if you have everything tight, I have never worked on a computer with the cdrom upside down but a lot of them on their sides and that is almost as bad

not all CD-ROM drives work on their sides. There's a case sold by Enermax that runs all the drives at 45 degrees. It should work fine that way.

I 'd be concerned about the longevity of the HDs.

afaik, they are supposed to be mounted vertically or horizontally to avoid wear on the bearings.
