Would a LED printer do for producing artwork films to create PCB's with?

I got this LED printer: OKIPAGE 6w.

Basically what I'm wondering is whether a LED printer can be used to create the artwork films (containing the layout of a circuit) for PCB's with.

From what I understand, an LED printer works much alike a laster printer (they only use a different method to create differently charged fields on an image drum), so the result should be the same. At least, that's my uninformed opinion. Any, more professional insights are therefore welcome.

Thanks! 🙂

If the end results of the print process are the same, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to use it.

This is the first I've heard of LED printing technology. Got any good, informative links? 🙂

Here ya go: linky... 🙂

Hmm... from what I read on this page, it seems that LED printers ARE laser printers, but then the next generation. Well, kinda.

Apparently the answer to my question is a clear 'yes' =)

Thanks. Interesting that manufacturing a 600dpi row of LEDs is cheaper than the laser system. :Q
The fixed resolution seems like a crutch, though. Does it look good?

Does it look good?!? Of course it does 😀

Laser quality for a very low price, what more can you wish for? 🙂 Now if I just could get my hands on one of these nifty little color LED printers...

BTW, it takes less than 5 seconds to print one page.
