in windows? no. in osx? yes. but i don't think that the card will support it at color depth over 256 colors. get a 6600

Excuse my ignorance but what is the problem with his intial choice? Why would he need the ATI card or even the 6600?

Any 128MB (PCIe in this case) card should do the job without a problem.

The problem is that people can't seem to accept that video cards exist for other purposes then getting the highest score in EPenisMark2005. :p

You need to make sure that whatever card you choose, it and its DVI port is capable of pumping out the native resolution for the panel - which IIRC is 1920x1200. Basically, anything capable of driving the Dell 2405FPW should be able to handle this one.

Are there trilobite remains stuck in the heatsink? If not, you're fine.

Seriously, though, everything modern should handle that and more. If you need assurance, max resolution and refresh should be somewhere in the specs of the video card.
