Would a Corsair AX1200 be enough for quad-fire 7970s?

a single 7970 consume around 200W, AX1200 should handle four of them even though it only has six PCIe connectors and not eight. Will need adapters

AX1200 would be fine. Its good up to 1550w

Huh? You'd run a 1200W PSU at 1550W load?

3 x MSI 7970 @ 1100MHz core / 1500MHz
Rams, Cpu Intel Core i7 3930k @4.8GHz,
4x4GB Gskill 2400MHZ, SSD Corsair GT
120GB
pulling 1300W from wall, its around 1190W
DC power(furmark+prime95)..gaming or
folding shouldnt require that much juice..
Psu is Seasonic platinum 1kW

So without any oc you should be fine in 1200W DC.. When you oc both gpus and cpu, it starts to reach 1300-400W DC.. But these numbers for furmark and prime, i dont think any game will utilize your cpu and gpus that hard.. So you will be ending up with less than 1200W DC.. Even if it goes beyond that i dont think your psu gives you problem till 1400W DC

I thought by "good" you meant it can be run at that wattage safely... and if so, then why would you not?
