Would a 7.5ns SDRAM on a 100Mhz FSB BX mobo default to 8ns?

Hi, I have a simple memory question for ya'll. Say I run a 7.5ns PC133 SDRAM on a 440BX mobo at 100Mhz FSB, does it automatically default to 8ns? Another example is RDRAM, does using 45ns @ PC800 automatically default to 40ns?

Basically, with everything else constant(using the first example), would using a 7.5ns SDRAM be faster than a 8ns one on a 100MHz FSB mobo? I know the difference is small but I'd still like to know which is the faster one. Thanks.

7.5 ns is basically just saying, what the time span between two reads can be.
You may use more aggressive timing settings if you then only drive it with 100 MHz, but at the same settings, it will perform just as well as its 8 ns brethren.

Ok, so does that mean it would run at 8ns -- to comply with the 100Mhz FSB speed?

It runs just as fast as 8ns-one.. cause 8ns SDRAM is fast enough for PC-100 CAS2.
