I have also an AMD based system but weaker than yours. I have installed WinXP Pro and i have 256MB RAM PC-133. I am definetely losing frames here when compared to my previous Win98SE installation (even though i have about 8 winxp services disabled in order to free memory). So i will buy another 256megs to even up. You will surely see improvement with the ram you mentioned.

i think yes u would benifit from more ram. if games don't use it, windows XP will, and with ram prices so cheap, go for it

Are you running 1600x1200 with aa or something? With a 2000+ and a ti4600 I have a hard time believing you'll really be able to notice a difference, even if there technically is one.

In terms of frames per second, the likelyness of you getting a faster frame rate is doubtfull, and even if you did, you wouldn't notice it. I do recomend you step up to 512 though, as Windows XP is a memory hog and it's always good to have head room.

Your framerates won't increased unless you're getting excessive paging during gameplay.

However your whole system will run more smoothly and your game load/reload times will be much better.
