I have a program that blocks banner ads, as well as pop ups. I see NO advertising anywhere.

It's real, and they have been talking to a few card makers (3 or so I think at the moment, with rumours, denied by XGI about 2 more, one of whom is Asustech). Even the Anandtech main site had a comment about it from one of the computer shows IIRC.
I believe this is a real product, and is supposed to be seeing the light of day around the end of November at the earliest.

definetly not worth it. it MIGHT come out, and MIGHT be good. but guarenteed you will not have as nearly as well polished, speedy, and reliable card as ATi offers right now

XGI is a legitimate company. It was formed by the merging of 2 smaller companies. I dont recall which 2, S3 and Trident? Its a st@b in the dark guess.

As for the Volari Duo it seems to me that each processor is clocked at 250Mhz, has 8-pipelines, and a 128-Bit memory bus. Being as the Radeon 9700/9800s already have a 8-Pipeline core at much higher clock speeds I think this is no competition. Not to mention but how could the AGP bus supply enough data for two GPUs? This is sort of like the problem with the PS2 Anand stated in his review about it.

Trident and SiS's Xabre graphics department. S3 is still around as part of VIA.
