Worth upgrading?

I'm currently using Creative Inspire 5300 (Sattelites - 6W, SW - 18W)) and an Audigy 2ZS.

Now, i can get Inspire T5900 (8W - 4 sattelites, front sattelite - 20W, SW - 22W) for around $70.

Looking at the spec, the two surround systems are not much different. The only thing that's noticeably better is the front sattelite.

So, do you guys think it's woth upgrading to T5900 or not?

Not really.

The big differences are going from 2.1 to surround, or going from a generic speaker brand to something good like Logitech, Creative, or Klipsch. Since you already have good creative surround, I doubt you'd notice much of a difference. You have the larger audio environment, so you've got the main thing.

I think this is going to be a more of a lateral move than an upgrade. If you spent over $50 on your soundcard, I'd wait until you can spend more on a set of speakers. I think a good set of speakers is a great investment because they hold their value very well compared to just about everything computer related 🙂

I'd say save up until you can afford logitech z-5300s at least. You'll have a much more powerful system if that's what you're looking for.

Watch out though, because the sky is the limit for speakers though 🙂

I have the Logitech z5300's. Darn nice speakers, especially for the money.
Dont ever spend money unless you plan on making a real upgrade.
You can either waste 50 bucks or spend a good 150 dollars.

Pick up some Klipsch Promedia's or Logitech z-2200, they will blow your mind

I have both and tend to prefer the Klipsch

I'd have to say the same. Look for the z-2300s, though. Basically the same thing at the same price, but with some minor upgrades I guess.
