worth upgrading to x800xl agp?

just upgraded from a p4 2.4ghz northwood to a 3.4ghz northwood. currently have a 9800pro 128mb. is it worth the 300 dollars to upgrade to a x800XL ? or should i just keep the 9800 pro. i don't have pci-e so that's not an option. i searched but am not sure if the 3.4ghz cpu will max out the 9800 pro

What games are you playing and what settings do you use? 9800 Pro can playu anything out atm as long as you don't need high res with aa/af...

hl2 + mods, guildwars and empire earth 2.

No need to upgrade.

9800p is still a great card and will run hl2 great.

IMO theres no need to upgrade your gfx until the games you want to play run to slow, unless of couse you want to be the fastest all the time.

9800 is really good, just nothing beyond 10x7 wil be that smooth

Either get a new R520 G70 when they come out or wait a bit for current high-end cards to come down in value.

u can play empire earth 2 even on an X300 with full details..i knw since my friend has that rig....HL2 however u will need a better card...get a 6600GT since ur not really that much in gaming...not worth spending 260 on a card. however if u really want a high performing card get the 6800GT AGP...costs the same as the XL and edges it out in most games.
