Worth upgrading to Audigy from SBLive Value?

I am using the ORIGINAL Live!value1 OEM. Thinking of getting the Audigy. I got some decent speakers, and just wondering if it is worth the hassle?

SBlive is perfect at the moment

Just that it has this stupid problem with winxp, where sometimes only the front speakers work.

I went from the original SBLive Value to the Audigy. It's a nice upgrade as long as you don't really need anything else in your system upgraded. The SB1394 is nice if you have an FireWire peripherals, I guess.

I had to upgrade since I blew up the old card doing the digital out mod....(long story)...😱

if your not die hard on Creative... you might want to check out the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz... I just got one for Xmas and I haven't had any conflicts with Win XP at all. Good price as well.

<< think the Audigy has more problems in XP. >>

No problems here with my SB Audigy and XP,I too have SB Live in my Win 98 PC & SB Audigy in my XP one and the sound quality is better with the Audigy , it does have lower cpu usage in gaming probably one of the lowest of any sound cards.

Is it worth you upgrading?... depends ,yes if you are unhappy with your SB Live ,if you are happy with your SB Live then keep it for now.

🙂

Contrary to what the anti-Creative zealots will tell you, there's nothing wrong with the Audigy. It should work fine with WinXP. And yes, it *IS* a worthwhile upgrade from a SBLive (which is really 3 year old technology).

It all depends on how you like your current soundcard.. I don't mind my SBLive! so I am going to keep mine for a while, still.

im kinda in the same boat. i have an sblive value in my system now, and i wanna get my mom a sound card for her system. the question is, do i just get a cheap pci128 or similar sound card for her and keep my live, or do i get myself an audigy, and giver her my live? she doesnt need great sound, and im wondering if its worth it to spend 40+ more bucks for an audigy. i am running it with an via chipset, and i have noticed some pops now and then, even with the 4-in-1's installed. because of this, im leaning pretty heavily toward the audigy.
