Worth upgrading to 24" 4k IPS monitor?

I right now have a 23" AOC IPS monitor. I have a GTX 1080 Ti as a graphics card. I was considering upgrading to a 24" 4k IPS monitor, preferably one that does HDR. I can't go for a larger monitor because if I do I won't have space for speakers (I prefer not wearing headphones) and I think I sit too close to the screen for something larger than a 24" to be suitable on my desk. Will 4k HDR be worth it in my situation on a 24" screen?
 
For HDR content, the color and contrast will be exceptionally better than your current display, but I don't think there are any 24" HDR monitors available, you'll likely have to get a larger display. The bump in resolution will also help resolve finer details, depending upon your visual acuity, distance from the screen, etc. Have you looked at the 28" models? They are only ~1 1/2 inches wider, if you have any additional space to work with.

Would wall-mounting your speakers or your display solve the problem with space on your desk?
