Good card, but if I were to upgrade I'd go one notch higher - HD 4870 or GTX 260.

this, only i would probably pick up a 4850x2. at $219 on newegg for the 2GB version and it's faster than a GTX285 you cant go wrong there

ed: and if you are ona budget, you can get 2 4850 512s for $85 + $10 MIR with free shipping and a free HDMI cable. check hot deals

Not even one notch higher. Get a 4890 or don't bother upgrading.

In fact, I wouldn't bother upgrading at all.

u're hardly gonna notice a difference. Can u wait till the fall when the next gen GPUs will be released? They'll come w/ DX11 support to boot.

i'd also recommend the 4870, people on the anandtech for sale thread sell them for about $120 shipped or you can get one on newegg for $130 after rebate brand new. I bought mine a couple months ago off this forum for $130, I upgraded from a 9800gt and it made a world of difference in my games. Of course at that time 4870's were still $180 and 4890's were $220 retail, now they're about $40 cheaper.

I'm with SickBeast. Get a 4890 or nothing.

4890 is the best bang for the buck right now.

Thanks guys. Going by the responses it sounds like it's probably not worth it yet, so I'll wait until the next gen of cards. They are due later this year, correct?
