Worth upgrading from a 4850x2 2GB to a 6850/GTX 560 Ti?

My motherboard just died, and I'll be upgrading to a i5-2500K/Z68/8GB setup. I'm deciding between re-using my 4850x2, or getting a 6850 or GTX 560 Ti. I'm not prepared to spend more than the price of either cards.

According to the AT GPU 2010/2011 bench, the 4870x2 is significantly faster than either card. I'm assuming the 4850x2 isn't a lot slower than the 4870x2, and would therefore be at least as fast if not faster than the 2 newer cards. The only improvements would be in power consumption, heat and DX11 support then.

Is it worth the "upgrade"? Thanks.

If your happy with your 4850x2 i see no point in upgrading period.

If not a 6950 with potential to flash to 6970 is a nice option and costs as much as a gtx560ti i believe

Thanks. Will stick with my 4850x2 for now then. Can't believe it's been almost 3 years and can still hang with the mainstream cards now. :)

Unfortunately the 6950 doesn't cost as much as the gtx560ti where I am.

I thought it would be nice if something didn't cost as much? Or is it unfortunate that the gtx560ti costs more than the 6950 where you are...

I think you mean costs more?

Unless you can get lucky and sell your card to one of the bitcoin obsessed people (for about the cost of the new card), I don't think there'd be any point go making the change. Hold off and wait for the next stuff that will hopefully be out in less than 6 months from now.
