Is quite interesting seeing many people saying their 6800GT/Ultra GPUS died, Do nVidia did something to make those GPU's last only a couple of years? I have almost 2 years with my card and I haven't gotten any problem with it (Though is a poor overclocker) and I haven't seen many people with dying X8X0 GPU's, most of them are X850 (Ironic because it's optimized silicon allows to reach higher clocks than the original R420 silicon)

yuou might as well bite the bullet and get a new board.

its just not worth it. a 7800gs is probably only barely faster than a 7600gt pci-e since it only has 16 pipes.

if you could get a 20 or 24 pipe 7800gs agp if they exist it might be worthwhile, but still might as well bite the bullet, since those cards are going to be expensive and a 7900gt pcie is going to be cheaper than either as well.
