Worth upgrading? 2 SLI 980s to 1080ti

I have two EVGA 04G-P4-2983-KR superclocked 980s in SLI running with an i7 4790K on a 2560x1440 monitor.

I'm contemplating upgrading to a single 1080ti. Is it worth it? What % performance increase would I see?

How much can I get for two never overclocked (beyond EVGA factory OC) 980s on the used market?

Thanks!

Yes it’s worth it I went 980ti SLI to two Titan pascals SLI then to single 1080ti. It will be nearly twice as fast or faster in most/all games.

Yes, definitely worth it. There will be lower gains in some titles with good multi-GPU support, but in others you will see a huge boost.

2 gtx980's should net you ~ $400
A gtx1080ti will be from 50 to 120% faster than 2 gtx980's at 1440p.
The extra video memory will also be a big help. 11gb vs 4gb.

I've still been hanging onto my pair of GTX 980 ACX cards for quite some time. I'd upgrade but I don't have a G-Sync monitor at the moment; the desktop they're in is still on Haswell so no further upgrades there.

Actually, would a single 1080ti be bottlenecked on a 4790k?

That depends on your resolution. It would at 1080p, it would not at 4K.
