Worth upgrading 192core 260 to 55nm 216 core?

I have 25 evga bucks that I could use on the step up so it looks like it would only cost me about $15+shipping to exchange my 192core 260GTX Superclocked for a 55nm 216 core Superclocked card. Is it worth it?

One caveout is that my card needs to be RMA'd anyway

The Core 216 gets a bit more performance, giving it the edge on the 4870 1gb and runs cooler if you get the 55nm, uses less power, and if you're RMA-ing anyways shipping isn't too big a factor, and you have $25 evga money that you can't use for anything else? Then go for the upgrade :p

The difference won't be night and day to you though, keep that in mind. It just gets a bit more of an edge, a few more fps if you will, than your current 260.

That is kind of what I figured. It would give a slight bump but nothing remarkable other than being the "newest bang". I haven't found anything else to use those bucks on in the last few years.

It can't hurt, but it's not going to give you anything special: just a small bump in performance, that it won't really justify for those bucks, but I'd do it too. :p

Its only going to cost me $15 + shipping out of pocket which isn't too bad. I have had the evga bucks sitting around for years now.

In this case it makes sense to upgrade as its a very small performance upgrade for a small amount of money, if you were replacing the card at full price I'd say no way but for 15 bucks plus shipping what the hell :) seems like a decent upgrade for chump change.

You're asking us if it's worth it for $15+shipping??? You're crazy, get it. You can't even make a 20min phone call for $15+shipping and you're getting a newer/better card.

That is about what I figured. Now I just have to start the Step UP program

'caveat'

I'd also be as bold as to suggest that the factor you describe is not a caveat, it's simply context that adds weight to the 'get the 216 55nm' side of the argument. You aren't warning or cautioning us.
