Hi, i have a Foxconn g31mx(2 dimm slots), 2 GB DDR2 Crucial Ballistix(1gb x 2) and E6850; and lets say i have a $150 gift card from amazon, whats your opinion about getting something new, i know 775 is dead but reading another posts replacing my cpu is not worthy unless i have around 200 for cpu alone(i5 750), and that means changing my memory-mobo, so i guess thats out of the question. I was thinking about OC'ing the cpu, i have an Hyper 212 sitting on the floor(currently using a zalman cnps7500)i know the 212 will do the job, but i just cant get this mobo to oc a thing, if i move fsb from 333 to 340(just to say a number) it simply wont start (tried dif cpu v levels), so i was thinking getting a new mobo (with 4 dimm slots) and 2 gb(for 4gb total) and OC, or just keep mobo and get 4gb without oc. Mostly play WOW and my video is enough for it (9600 gt, res 1440*900) so i dont think i need a new one; on a side note, should i waste the money on anything i just said or buy anything else from amazon(hd5750 comes to mind) and wait till i can get a new rig?

No point in getting a new 775 mobo. Just buy a 2x2GB kit and 2x36 Hershey Bars 😛
 
I suggest upgrading your RAM,

If you want to cash in your 9600GT for a 5770 that would be a good choice as well. RAM is probably limiting you the most now.

Also you'll be able to ebay your ram as well for money towards the purchases.

Depends on how balls to the wall you want to go man.

When do you anticipate building a new rig? or rather how long do you want to wait realistically?
 
1 Year top for new rig, just wanted too see if there is anything good i could do with the $150 from amazon, im using it, no matter how lol; im not from usa so ebay wont help me t.t

OP mobo lol.. i hate it so much; had to buy that cos a lightning that landed in front of my house fried my previous one =( thx for replys guys, yeah thats why i said about getting another mobo and 2gb so i can use my current ram, either that or just a 4gb kit

At any rate. My suggestion is to purchase a 9800GT (provided you have PSU support) and find your choice of 1 stick of 2gb ram.

Sell your 9600GT and 1gb of ram to make up what little difference there might be.

That is if you want to blow that gift card.
