Worth to upgrade?

My gf pc uses an ebgaec 680i board and I just installed a seagate 600 ssd. Would it be worth changing to another socket 775 motherboard.

I found a used asus p5e board for $50. Would be changing motherboards just to have ahci.

From what I read, it depends on the drive. Some benefit a good bit, some not so much, almost all are in the benchmarks. I thought this article and the accompanying comments were good:
