Worth the upgrade to do the RMA?

I have been running dual 8800GTS 380's in SLI for almost 2 years. I had a problem where there was a short on the PCI-e connector on the secondary card and got ASUS to RMA it for me. Now I have 2 good video cards but a mobo with 1 half melted PCI-e slot. I am trying to decide if I should just upgrade the system to a newer video card or try to get ASUS to RMA the mobo as well (both the vid cards and mobo are ASUS). If I upgrade, I'll only spend $150 max. Are there any cards out there in that price range that would give me enough of a performance boost to make it worth it? I use mainly my 17" monitor (I know not very big) but I like to sometimes use the 65" 1080p TV to game on as well. Playing mostly CoD 4 and some Fallout 3. Thanks!!

RMA the motherboard. If there's nothing wrong with the video cards and ASUS will do it, why keep a mainboard with a partial failure? Even if down the road you get a stronger single video card I personally would rather not stick it in an old mobo with one of its slots burned out.
