Worth putting RAM sinks on my 9800 pro?

good idea to make it last longer?

it often runs at well over 30'C ambient room temp, so it really does get pretty hawt 😛

couldnt hurt at all, just dont get dinky ones like ocz copper ones unless u got airflow over them

plus it looks cool 😉

edit: and yes reducing heat or improving heat dissipation will help prolong life

I must confess, I'm a little confused why somebody would bring up room temperature if they want to cool their video card.

cuz room temp absolutely affects every other temp in the system, hotter than average room, hotter than average video card

also its probably the only other reference temp he's got along with case temp since the 9800 pro doesnt have a temp sensor as someone else mentioned

I'd consider it a waste of money.

Ramsinks really don't get you that much in terms of overclocking and they're pretty expensive for what they are. Save your $$$ for your inevitable video card upgrade.

I suppose it can't hurt longevity, though I doubt it's a huge factor

Your card will far outlast it's usefullness with a stock configuration plus leaving it stock keeps the warranty intact (assuming it is still under warranty).
