Greetings all,
I've been considering upgrading post-July with the Intel price drops. However, I'm not terribly convinced that it would be worth my money. After looking into it, with a new CPU/Mobo/Ram/Case(for cooling), it would cost me roughly $800 or so. I'm not shy about spending money on my PC, but I'm wondering if it would really be worth it. I'd probably run a very mild overclock and what I'd be upgrading to is an E6750. I haven't chosen a mobo or ram yet, because I'm not sure what good suggestions would be. But here are my current specs:
Antec 550W PSU
Abit KN8 SLI
Athlon X2 4200+
2Gigs Patriot Ram
GeForce 8800GTS 640meg
Would it be worth it to upgrade? I haven't bothered OCing this system yet, because I'm still reading up and making sure I do everything properly. As well, I'm lazy, so I've been putting it off, because it's such a pain in the ass to reach my CMOS. But, I'm guess I couldn't go very high with it and I would see barely any performance increase from OCing it.
So would it really be worth it to spend $800 and get a C2D?
