Worth it to upgrade MDR-EX51's to MDR-EX75's?

I have a pair of Sony MDR-EX51 earbuds that are finally giving out (they managed to survive almost 2 years, which is pretty good IMO). I really liked them for the most part and now I'm trying to decide if I should buy another pair for around $20 on Amazon, or upgrade to the MDR-EX75's for about $40. I'm also open to suggestions for other suitable replacements, not entirely stuck on Sony. I'm going to be using them with my iPod for general listening (no gym use or anything like that).

Any suggestions are appreciated.

While I can't talk to the 75's, I can tell you that the 51's and 71's used the same driver.

If you liked the 51's then I would stick with them. That hold's double true if you liked how comfortable they were.
