Worth it to update ATI drivers?

I have a 9800 pro, and haven't updated my ATI drivers for over a year. I just checked the ATI site, and they recommend not updating unless you are currently having issues. Everything works fine, but I'm wondering if there have been any speed improvements with the later drivers that would justify the update?

I dont know about speed improvements, but I usually dont bother updating drivers for my 9800p, unless I feel like it. I'm not worried about the speed either.

Update every time. Sometimes I have seen a 20% performance increase. But you will probably really see a difference if you update after every few drivers or so.

I would after a year. Be wary, though, of the Catalyst Control Center. When I used ATI drivers a couple of months ago that thing was really messed up....not only for me but for alot of people. If you can still DL the drivers and old control panel (which was an option not too long ago), I'd seriously consider that. The CCC simply would not work and with it installed I could only control my resolution and color depth. Pure spinach.

That is because you didn't install the MS .Net Framework 1.1:
