Five good reasons to use XP x64:
1.) Using more than 3 gigs of ram
2.)
3.)
4.)
5.)
2-5 are blank because there are no good reasons to put there

Billb2 said it. Unless you have more then ~3.2GB of RAM there's really no point to go to XP-64.

If you really have to ask this question, then you certainly don't need it ;)

because if you needed more than 3GiBs of ram, you would know that you need a 64bit OS.
However, this can be achieved by enabling PAE. Afaik that is possible for XP as well, I'm not sure though.

Of course, operations with large numbers are faster, because the registers are increased in size, but this does not significantly increase performance for "normal software"-usage.

Only two reasons I use xp64 is I have 16GB of ram and use 64bit versions of a few graphic programs.

If it wasn't for those two reasons I wouldn't be using it

Not worth the effort to upgrade to XP x64 from XP x86.

The only 64 bit OS I'd upgrade to from XP is Vista x64.

Application and driver support in XP 64 is very limited.

I have 4GB RAM in my laptop and have used XP32 (knowing that I can't use that extra 1GB). Now, I'm running Vista64 and application/driver support is amazingly good!
