Worth it to replace digitizer?

Cracked the screen on my Rezound... just a few weeks after I already paid $100 insurance for a new one from a previously cracked screen.

So it looks like this is becoming an issue for me! I can buy a 20 dollar replacement and there are videos online that show how to do this butttt I'm sure its a lot harder than it looks.

Has anyone done this before? Do the replacements work as well as factory when done correctly? The new crack is not noticeable in a lot of angles and doesn't effect the functionality at all so If all I'm going to do is ruin my phone by trying this then its not worth it...

I tried to fix the screen on an old iPhone 2, and butchered it. I'm reasonably handy, and have fixed several screens and digitizers on my kids NDS devices over the years, and fix my own LCD monitors (recently replaced the capacitors on my Soyo Topaz and it's working great). I think if I tried it again I could do a better job, but overall it is difficult. I would just keep using the phone for now...

I've replaced a bunch of Thunderbolt screens before, and iirc the internals of the two are similar (screen assembly wise).

It can be delicate work, requires a lot of patience. If you have a steady hand it definitely can be done. In my experience the cheap digitizers seem to work alright. Probably the biggest issue I've run into is that if you aren't careful the alignment can be off.
