Are there any benefits? And are people willing to pay a little extra because of the charge for recieving? Anyone have any experience. My Mom accidentaly signed up for one, and I'm trying to get my personal one back, but if it's worth it to have a premier I might keep it. Any idea's?

Charging more to compensate for the fees is against the TOS.

Furthermore, individuals are allowed to have two paypal accounts. This way you can have a regular account and a premier account.

It allows other people to pay you with a credit card, as oppose to only with existing fund in their Paypal account.

Totally correct. I can't stand sellers who do not understand this concept.

It is if she takes CC payments. Just use a premier account for CC payments and a regular account for all other transactions.

Ok, well mostly I've been fine with just non-cc payments, so I guess I should downgrade. Anyone know exactly how to do this?

Some people just inflate the shipping price to make up for the fees
I'll be the first to admit i do that on ebay a lot of the time. I usually dont sell items on ebay though unless they are $100+ items and i just auto put in $5 or so onto shipping to account for that sorta thing...otherwise it just ends up screwing you over in the long run too much. All i have is a permier account and i have been relatively happy with it however, sux giving away dollar after dollar for each sale but in the long run just been less of a hassle to have all my $$$ in one place.

yeah, but think of all the money you lose. Almost $300 on every $1000. Not funny. The only benefit is having no recieving limit and accepting cc. Everyone seems to be fine with non-cc and I don't need to recieve over $1000 a month. I just need to remove the withdrawl limit and since that is removed diferently I'll be getting rid of this premier soon. I wihs I ken whow though.

$30.00 on every $1000.00.. not $300.00!

You have two options:

1) Downgrade to a personal account ... you're only allowed to "downgrade" once.

2) Keep your current Premier/Business Paypal account and open a new Personal account. Yes the SAME PERSON can have two Paypal accounts (my wife has two) ... you will need to use a different email address, bank account and credit card and here's more info.

If you plan on accepting a few cc Paypal transactions I would go with option 2.

... For a hobo. I mean, if you have a thousand dollars in your hand, and you go get a steak, there's $30. Oh well, you still have $970.

I use one account, and I use actual shipping costs, so I usually end up taking paypal fees and extra shipping costs on the chin.

One time this dude wins the auction, then says he wants to do a local pick up.
I tell him, "No way, we might have worked something out if you told me before you won the auction, but as it stands, you need to pay me for the item plus shipping."
He says, "I'm not paying for shipping when you live 5 miles away. You can just file with ebay for a non-paying bidder and go through all the trouble."
So I just tell him, "Give me your address, I'll ship it on my dime."
So he replies with his address, and pays me $25. The auction closed at $30, with $8 shipping. This is for some dlink 802.11b router. So I ship him the router and send him an email that says, "You paid me less than the auction closed for, but forget about it. Hope the router works out for you."
I don't hear anything else from him until he leaves me negative feedback saying "Seller took a week to ship item."

So, in summary, I got stiffed for $7.50 in shipping, about $1 in paypal fees, another $1 or $2 in ebay fees, AND the $5 he didn't send me for my item. Plus a negative feedback. I just don't see why some people have to be SUCH assholes, for NO reason. I was extremely pissed. I left him a negative feedback that just said "Mailbomb." :D

WTF is wrong with you, he didn't even send you the full amount for the item and you sent it to him anyways for free shipping?

He pretty much had me by the balls. I would have had to go through a lot of crap with ebay over a non paying bidder.

You don't have to tell me, I deal with 1 or 2 on average a week, plus the usual idiots and scammers. Personally I'd rather just relist (you don't have to file a NPB to get final credit) than sell it to a someone who is being an ass.

Now that I think about it, I think they might have changed their policy recently, I don't remember seeing the option last time I did it. In any case, $.30 listing fee is better than losing $5.

You wouldn't believe how incredibly fast and easy it is to open another bank account. My wife deposited $5 and had a new checking account (without checks) within 2 minutes. She just visited her CU's branch and asked for another checking account. They even labelled it "Paypal" on their DDA system.
