Worth it to get a agoia 1600 over current 1900?

am i crazy to consider trying to get an agoia xp1600 and overclock the crap out of it over my current xp1900? i've gotten my 1900 to load into windows at 1.75ghz, but can only get it to run prime stable at 1.71ghz. is it unrealistic to think the agoia 1600 will reach 1.8ghz stable aircooled?

that's true. i don't know what i was thinking. 😕
i guess it's easy to get caught up in trying to get every last bit of performance and not looking at the big picture.
thanks jaybee.

I personally would take the chance... considering how cheap the 1600+'s are right now...

On average, most can *easily* do 1.75 GHz from what I've seen. Many get up to 1.8, and even 1.9, and those are stable Prime speeds.

That being said, let's not forget that nothing is guaranteed in OC'ing... you may get a gem of a chip, or you may get one that's not so great.

My AGOIA 1700+ @1470 does 2100+ @1750mhz default voltage. Temps are exactly the same from 1470mhz to 1750mhz, air cooled. I figure i can always raise my vcore to overclock higher.

edit: just a side note, I did try to bump the vcore to 1.80v and I am stable 1815mhz, but my temps started to rise (from 46 load to 50 load), so I keep it at default.

I did the exact same thing you are thinking of. However, I can only reach 1750mhz with the 1600+ AGOIA and my 1900+ AGNGA could do 1850mhz at 1.8v. The 1900+ though, doesnt' seem to want to go any further.
